Therapeutic Bodywork

This session uses lotion/oil for hands-on tissue manipulation. Designed to remove severe tension, this style of bodywork targets musculoskeletal dysfunction, relieves pain, and increases mobility by manipulating the deepest layers of muscle and fascia, as well as structures of and tissues surrounding related joints. Every session will be catered to your unique concerns and focus on specific problem areas. Common conditions include: plantar fasciitis, tension headaches, overuse syndromes, thoracic outlet syndrome, upper crossed syndrome, chronic low back pain, forward head position, post-surgery recovery, piriformis syndrome, tendinitis/tendinopathies, strain/sprain/spasm recovery, and more.

Acupressure

In an acupressure session, I apply firm pressure with my thumb, palm or forearm to specific points along pathways on your body, which relieves muscle tension and creates a very relaxed mind state where healing can occur. This simple and powerful technique has been shown to be very effective in treating headaches, muscle and joint tightness, insomnia, and anxiety.

My acupressure session incorporates the Chinese Five Element Theory and is similar to Shiatsu -- it includes rocking, stretching and joint mobilization.

Acupressure sessions do not use any lotion or oil: comfortable exercise or yoga clothing is worn.
